Imperforate plate proof (Cuba Philately).

Shiv

First welcome to the ISGC. Your stamp would be from Cuba and most likely a proof or essay of Scott #351. Perhaps another member of the club will provide more specific info for you.

Thanks David, Ill enquire of the seller. Perhaps as you say it might be salesman's sample

Hello Shiv
That is not a Guatemala proof. The seller on Ebay has had varieties of those listed for a long time and probably has numerous copies he's working through. It may have been some kind of ABNC salesman's sample as it is imperf and has two country names. Guatemala did not use ABNC in the twentieth century. Starting in the 1940's Guatemala designed and printed most of its stamps and also used Enshade(sp?) located in the Netherlands.

Hi fellow enthusiasts,

I am a newbie as far as Guatemala is concerned, but have joined the society and have ordered my Vol.1 and 2 of Guatemala Stamps and Postal history. In the meantime i have been acquiring interesting items, scouring the net.

One of my purchases is this ABNC colour proof.but it refers to Republic of Cuba Guatemala. nI wondered if anyone can throw further light on this?

My thanks in advance

Shiv Nair
